Wedding photography a big and a very specialized type of photography requiring years of experience, special talent, and professionalism.
Generally, wedding is considered as one of the most memorable days in a lifetime, one that people cherish for life. These days, for most couples, regular wedding pictures just won’t do and they look for a seasoned and professional wedding photographer.
Typically, a wedding photography assignment would involve shooting pictures of the couple before marriage (pre wedding) as well as coverage of the wedding and reception functions.
As the beginning of 20th photography was still widely unreliable and way too expensive for masses. Most of the wedding photography was only restricted to classic black and white pictures that basically involved taking photographs of wedding ceremonies involving couple, their family and friends. Most professional photographers always realize that there was much more to wedding photography than simply shooting a few pictures in fixed poses to the camera.

Basically there are two main primary approaches of wedding photography, the traditional and photo-journalistic. The traditional wedding photography involves more classical posed images with a great deal of photographer control interaction on the day of wedding while photo-journalistic style of wedding photography takes cue from editorial reporting styles and focuses much more on candid images with a little photographer interaction.
A refreshingly new still photography style called Candid Photography is increasingly becoming popular both in casual day to day photography and formal portrait style photography. Candid photography, in essence, helps a creative photographer capture the natural expressions of people in their most pristine and casual form making the snaps more engaging and memorable.
In addition, candid shots are also taken at weddings, such as photos of the little girl dancing on her father’s feet or the bride smashing cake in the groom’s face. These types of shots are sometimes the most treasured and memorable. This style of photography results in more candid and natural looking photographs.
Wedding photography is considered as one of the rare good careers in photography. It is also a fun challenge for amateurs to try to do something creative at a weddings where a professional has been hired to get the essential photos. Professional wedding photographers are generally considered to have a strong passion for photography.
