Candid Photography – Candid Moments Captured

Wedding is one of the most memorable days in a lifetime of any person, something that they would cherish for rest of their life. Couple always look for a seasoned and professional wedding photographer for their event.

Wedding photography is a very specialized type of photography that requires years of dedication, experience and to some extent, special talent, in addition to a high energy creative mindset that is always striving hard to deliver something different and interesting, something more engaging and interesting than regular photography.

In essence, there are two popular approaches to wedding photography, the traditional and photo-journalistic. The traditional wedding photography style entails more classical posed images with a great deal of photographer control interaction while photo-journalistic style of wedding photography focuses much more on candid shots with minimal photographer interaction.

Candid Photography

The candid photography is a refreshingly new still photography style that is increasingly becoming popular both in casual day to day photography and formal portrait style photography. Candid photography, in essence, helps a creative photographer capture the natural expressions of people in their most pristine and casual form making the snaps more engaging and memorable.

Candid photography is about capturing the spontaneity of a moment. Typically, a candid photo shot captures a fleeting moment and often a good candid pictures would capture raw emotion of the subject. For example, candid shots at weddings might include pictures of the little girl dancing on her father’s feet or the bride smashing cake in the groom’s face etc. These kinds of off-time pictures remains most treasured and memorable year after year.

No fake smiles or posed expressions

A candid portrait photo is not about fake smiles or posed expressions. This style of photography results in capturing candid moments and natural looking events in photographs which is achieved by avoiding any sort of prior preparation of the subject and by surprising or by not distracting the subject during the photo shoot.

Any professional photographers in the field of candid photography strive hard to master the art of making people relax and feel at ease around the camera, despite it being an obvious intrusive element. For capturing those fleeting moments in candid fashion, camera equipment used are often small in size to avoid any disturbance to the subject.

Long zoom lenses makes this style of photography more easier as a photographer can stay away from center of attraction. Then there’s nothing like a blinding flash of light in the eyes of subject to kill a moment. The new digital cameras has made it easier to take pictures in low light conditions without flash, allowing clean and blur free shoot even bad low light conditions.
